The new sidewalk with path lights that lead up to the renovated outside from the church parking lot. With the path lights and the porch lights, I am told it looks even more beautiful after dark. A few final touches will be done in the next few weeks. After that, there will be a final cleaning out of the old school, an asbestos abatement and then the installation of new windows and doors. That will give us a clean slate to begin Phase Two - the inside.

The beautiful new covered porch with the new planter boxes and posts seasoning in the sun before being stained. The new sod is waiting for the expected rains.

Several guests enjoying the country fried chicken and beef dinner served from the gym building next door.

Some of the picnic booths were in the shade of  the new porch.

THE SAINT THERESA HERITAGE PARTNERS  INFORMATION BOOTH

The gazebo that my brother Mark built in honor of our parents was renovated and landscaped by parishioner Adam Lancaster and his Landscaping Company. It is a perfect compliment to the new Family Life Center covered porch.

Some of the other picnic booths were under the trees.

A new optimism about the future and deep appreciation for the past was obvious all afternoon. Everyone seemed amazed at how fast we were able to accomplish most of Phase One in just ten weeks! There was a sense of wonderment and anticipation about Phase Two when they saw the drawing of what the inside was going to look like. Below are some samples.

PHASE TWO - COMING NEXT

We thank Timothy Schoenbachler who did the preliminary designs for Phase One and Phase Two.

We thank Scotty Brown and his team from Prodigy Construction Company for refining and turning his designs into reality.

EXCITEMENT IS ONE THING, FUNDS ARE ANOTHER

We have Phase One paid for, but we need a major push for funds as the architect, engineers and construction people prepare plans and cost estimates to present to the Parish Council for Phase Two. We need to have the funding in place before we can take Phase Two to the Archdiocese for final approval before work can begin. Our goal it to try to re-dedicate this building as a Family Life Center on the Feast of Saint Theresa of Avila October 15, 2022.
