FERGAL REDMOND
 GALWAY, IRELAND

My friend, Fergal, is a dedicated fellow volunteer down in the island missions of the Caribbean - Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in particular. We arrived there about the same time. He is full time and I am part-time. 

He volunteered after taking care of his wife, Catherine, who died in Ireland after an extended sickness. I arrived because of meeting Bishop Jason Gordon at Saint Meinrad when I was about to retire. 

Fergal has become a good friend. We connect by skype about every week. As a retired CPA, he oversees the finances of the diocese down there.  

He works very hard and takes no salary. In reality, he is always spending his own money. Therefore, I decided that he needed a real vacation. With my frequent flyer miles I bought him a round-trip ticket from Barbados to Louisville.

The drop-in reception will be co-hosted by Ms. Beth Kolodey who just recently returned from directing our very first "island kids' computer camp."
